BEFORE YOU START: Analyzing the skin

IMPORTANT: This analasys pertains mainly to severe eczema.

• 1. If required to do so (as per treatment options) then begin with the Probiotic 4B immediately
  
• 2. If the skin is broken, bleeding or has open wounds in anyway. DO NOT APPLY THE MINERAL MUD!!!



• 3. If your skin is in the condition as described above, then continue with your cortisone ointment until the skin has cleared and there is no open flesh exposed, or sensitivity
  
• 4. Apply a little of the “Relief Cream” to the affected area. If there is a slight sensation this is okay. If there is a severe burning or stinging sensation, then your skin is too inflamed to begin treatment and will require continued use of the cortisone until inflammation and sensitivity has dropped to comfortable levels.
  
• 5. If the mineral mud causes irritation especially when used on tender skin (Small children for example) then you may dilute the mineral mud with kaolin supplied.
  
• 6. If you are on anti-biotics or any type of immune surpressing drug then finish the course first before beginning the treatment.
  
• 7. Three factors that affect the duration of the healing process:
  i) The duration of use of cortisone. Although cortisone has helped as an anti-inflammatory it has also contributed to the thinning of the skin and reducing the skins ability to rejuvenate and heal itself.
  ii) Age. The older you are the slower your body takes to heal. As this entire treatment is based on providing the correct environment for the skin to heal itself, the treatment is therefor reliant on when your body’s timing decides it wants to start.
  iii) There is another cause that is being overlooked and requires further investigation. See section on Understanding Eczema

BEGINNING THE TREATMENT: Directions of use:

• 1)If required, immediately start taking the probiotics. Four per day, 2 morning & 2 evening, with food for 2 weeks. Thereafter 2 per day until eczema has cleared. (See the package insert for detailed dosages.)
  
  
• 2) Application of the mineral mud can only commence if the affected skin area is not broken, bleeding or is very sensitive / inflammed. If this is the case then use cortisone anti-inflammatory creams, to bring the affected area under control (3-4 days) then start the treatment. On skin areas not broken or bleeding, treatment may commence immediately.
  
  
• 3). On un-broken skin, apply the mineral mud to the affected area at night. (apply to infants and small children in small patches only, diluted with the kaolin supplied) leave on for 10 - 20 minutes, then rinse off with luke warm water. Pat dry with a towel and apply the relief cream.
  
  The mud may induce a tingly sensation, however if you sense severe burning and irritation rinse off immediately. Dilute the mud with the supplied "kaolin" and try again. If at any stage you feel that the mud is still too harsh then alternate application to every 2nd evening. After 10 applications stop for 2-3 days and then recommence for 10 days. Once eczema has cleared completely then cease use.
  Kaolin - Mix the supplied amount of kaolin with water until a runny paste has formed. Pour white paste into the mud and stir until completely mixed.
  
  
• 4) The Relief cream should then be applied after the mud treatment on completely towel dried skin. This cream can be applied as often as necessary usualy 4 times per day. Once eczema/psoriasis has cleared completely, apply for a further 5 days then stop.
  
  
• 5) Only use the Dermaphend range of liquid soap and body lotion as it contains only natural cleansers and moisturisers that do not irritate the skin. If you wish to use other products, check that the ingredients do not contain synthetic, toxic or chemical additives. (Do not be fooled by clever marketing and big brand names.....check the ingredients)
